Wine Classes

Wine Essentials
$40 plus tax, per person

Whether you are just discovering wine or an enthusiast who needs a refresher course, our Wine Essentials Course will provide you with the building blocks. Our wine professionals will teach you the 'Five S's' of wine tasting, explain common and often times confusing wine terminology and dispel the many wine myths and misconceptions. We will discuss how wine is made and the factors that influence a wines character.

Each class will taste and evaluate seven wines with the focus on the 'classic varietals'. You will learn why certain varietals grow where they do, why they taste like they do and why you wouldn't dare plant Syrah in Germany.

Classes will typically last around two hours and will conclude with a sampling of artisan cheeses from around the world.

Each class is limited to twelve participants, pre-payment required to reserve your spot. Cancellations must be received 48 hours prior to the scheduled class.

The Old vs. The New
$40 plus tax, per person

The 'Old World' is the birthplace of most noble grape varieties we know today: Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and others. These same varietals have shown to do very well in the 'New World' regions of North America, South America, Australia & New Zealand. We will taste, compare and discuss many of these wines which have all been grown in their respective regions throughout Europe as well as their New World counterparts.

This class will taste and evaluate eight wines with the focus on the stylistic differences in the wines and discuss terroir, regional classifications, and winemaking traditions and innovations.
